Sonakshi Sinha is an Indian Bollywood actress and model. She was born on 2 June 1987, to actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She has two brothers, Luv and Kush Sinha. The daughter of actors Shatrughan and Poonam, she began her career in film as a costume designer. She completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir, Mumbai and graduated in Fashion Designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University, Mumbai. She first walked the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2008 and 2009. She was the cover girl of Maxim Magazine, India for the month of December, 2010.
She is popular for her role of Rajjo in 2010 hit film Dabangg opposite Salman Khan. The film also marked her debut in Hindi film industry. Sinha started her career as a model and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion week 2008 and then again in Lakme Fashion week 2009. Sonakshi Sinha is also a fashion designer. She designed costumes for movie Mera Dil Leke Deko in 2005.She has marked her Bollywood debut in Hindi film industry with 2010's Blockbuster hit "Dabangg" opposite Salman Khan, which went on to be the biggest hit of that year. She won the Filmfare Award for "Best Female Debut". She starred in some of Bollywood's biggest hits including Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardar, Dabangg 2 and many more. She was last seen in Tevar movie opposite Arjun Kapoor. She is a great animal lover and she posed for a PETA campaign advocating the adoption and sterilization of dogs and cats.
She made her acting debut with the 2010 film Dabangg co-starring Salman Khan. The film went on to become one of the highest grossing Bollywood films.She also featured as the cover girl of Indian Edition of Maxim Magazine for month December, 2010.
Although Sinha had no film release in 2011, she won quite a few awards for her debut. This incuded the prestigious Filmfare Award among others.
She starred in a total of four films in 2012. They include Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Son Of Sardaar and Dabangg 2, the sequel to her immensely successful debut film, Dabangg.
Sinha has also been signed opposite her Rowdy Rathore and Joker co-star, Akshay Kumar for Once Upon a Time Again, the sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, set for release in 2013.
