Jacqueline Fernandez is a Bahraini-Sri Lankan actress, former model, and the winner of the 2006 Miss Universe Sri Lanka pageant. As Miss Universe Sri Lanka she represented her country at the 2006 world Miss Universe pageant. Jacqueline Fernandez is an Indian film actress and a former model who has established herself as a promising actress in Indian Cinema. She made her acting debut in Bollywood with Sujoy Ghosh's Aladin, for which she had won an International Indian Film Academy Award for Best Female Debut. Now she will be seen in upcoming film Dishoom alongwith Varun Dhawan and John Abraham. Jacqueline was born on August 11, 1985 in Bahrain. She was brought up in Sri Lanka and studied at The Sacred Heart School. She has three siblings, two brothers and a sister. She started to host TV shows at the age of 14. She has completed her graduation in Mass Communications from Australia and after returning back to Sri Lanka, became a political reporter. From the age of 8 years she had aspired to become an actress. She continued with modelling along with her career and in 2006 she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka Universe. Later, in 2007 she appeared for the very first time in a commercial music video of Sri Lanka. As per the latest reports, Jacqueline Fernandez, has replaced Malaika Arora Khan on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. She will be seen judging the reality dance show along with Shahid Kapoor and Ganesh Hegde this seasonJacqueline Fernandez was the anchor of Lanka Business Report and also used to write for The Daily Mirror. She used to do modelling in India and made her debut with the film Aladin opposite Riteish Deskhmukh.

 

Later, she appeared in famous sequels like Murder 2, Housefull 2 and Race 2. In 2014, Fernandez portrayed the leading lady in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick followed by 'Roy' where she played dual roles alongside Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor. Earlier it was reported that, Jacqueline Fernandez is dating Arjun Kapoor. But she denied the report and said, "We are a group of friends now, and when these articles come out its really funny. We wonder which idiot opened his mouth, and did something silly or dumb. The good thing about having friends in the industry is that we also know what is going on in reality, so Arjun and I still joke about it." Dishoom is an upcoming Indian action-comedy film, directed by Rohit Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandsons. It stars Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles. The film is slated to release on April 15, 2016.

 

She will soon be seen in Remo D'Souza's upcoming film Flying Jatt opposite Tiger Shroff. She will also be seen in Bang Bang 2 oJacqueline is all set to make her Hollywood debut. The actress has bagged a role in James Simpson's Definition Of Fear which is said to be a psychological thriller. She will also be seen in another Hollywood romantic-crime-thriller titled According to Mathew. Its story is based on the affair and the murders by Rev.pposite Sidharth Malhotra. Jacqueline Fernandez lately experienced that being in the film industry requires some compromises. This is the reason for her ending her two year old relationship with Bahrain prince Sheikh Hassan Bin Rashid Al Khalifa, in the interest of her career.

 

She was also initially linked with the co-star of her debut film, Ritesh Deshmukh but the rumors didn’t reach far. The current buzz going around in B-Town is that she is dating her director in Houseful, Sajid Khan. According to the rumors, the director and the actress would often be seen engrossed in a conversation and taking breaks together and people on the sets of Houseful have started to call her ‘Bhabhi’. She did most of her schooling in Bahrain’s Sacred Heart School where she was motivated to do well and excelled in events such as Athletics, Drama and many other fields. She was most fond of Track and Field and also picked up Horse Riding.

 

She has a passion for cultures and languages because of which she also joined the Berlitz School of languages. She learned to speak Spanish and improve her French and Arabic.

 

She is very ambitious and also a perfectionist. She also anchored one of Sri Lanka's business programs called "Lanka Business Report". Not restricting herself to being only on camera, she also writes a weekly column for a national newspaper, the "Daily mirror". She is also involved in social service and has a non-profit organisation in Sri Lanka focusing on empowering the underprivileged. She has come in a VIP ad with Shahid Kapoor.

Jacqueline's father Elroy Fernansez is a Sri Lankan and mother Kim is a Malaysian. She has two brothers and an older sister. Her parents moved to Bahrain when she was very young.

 

After her schooling in Bahrain, she was awarded a Scholarship to study at the University of Sydney, where she pursued a degree in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. Having a passion for cultures and languages she also joined the Berlitz school of languages, where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French and Arabic.

 

In 2006, she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006 and also competed in Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she entered the world of television and anchored a show on Sri Lanka's business called Lanka Business Report.

 

She came to Mumbai on a modeling contract and landed a role in Bollywood movieAladin (2009) directed by Sujoy Ghosh along with well known Indian stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and Riteish Deshmukh. After the success of her first film, she got signed on by Milap Zaveri for his directorial debut movie Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai(2010) in which she plays the part of an alien who comes to earth in search of love. Her co-star from her first movie, Riteish Deshmukh was her leading-man again. The director recommended her to well-known director Farah Khan who guest-starred in this movie. She made a cameo appearance (in a song) in the movie Housefull (2010) which was directed by Farah Khan's younger brother, Sajid Khan.
